THE FLORENCE NIGHTINGALE FOUNDATION The Florence Nightingale Foundation raises funds to provide scholarships for nurses and midwives to enable them, through study, to promote innovation in practice and to extend knowledge and skills to meet changing needs.
PRESS RELEASE 2012-13
Travel and Leadership Scholarships are now open for application Last year we awarded 23 Travel Scholarships and 21 Leadership Scholarships. It was a great year and we have funds available again for 2012-13 to continue this achievement. T
This is your chance to better the nursing profession and yourself, with the ultimate aim of improving clinical care. The Foundation are particularly interested in proposals for Travel Scholarships to study best practice in: any aspect of dignified care; nutrition/hydration; long term conditions; and the study of any clinical practice issues which enhance the patient or user experience.
We are delighted that our continuing partnership with The Burdett Trust for Nursing will enable the Foundation to expand its bespoke leadership scholarship programme across nurses, midwives and allied health professionals in the UK. There are Leadership Scholarships available as a result of our partnership with The London Network for Nurses and Midwives. These are for nurses and midwives who are working within London in an organisation providing patient care funded by the NHS. These prestigious awards are designated as the Professor Dame Christine Beasley Leadership Scholarships. Our partnership with Teenage Cancer Trust funded by the Raisa Gorbachev Foundation also brings in new opportunities to nurses both for Travel and Leadership Scholarships. These are for nurses working in the clinical specialty of teenage cancer within an organisation providing NHS funded care anywhere in the UK.
